Mutual Occlusion Culling for Orthographic Ray-Sampling Plane Hologram

(in English) Computer-generated hologram using ray-sampling (RS) plane can reproduce realistic 3D image even with deep scene. In our previous study, orthographic projection was introduced to the method to accelerate the calculation. In this report, we propose a calculation method to realize mutual occlusion culling between multiple orthographic RS planes. The proposed method enables us to synthesize a hologram for deep virtual scene in practical time thanks to the compression of calculation in wave propagation and occlusion processing. In the experiment, we experimentally verified that the occlusion effect was successfully reproduced in axially continuous objects, and the calculation was accelerated compared to the previous RS-based method.
