Influence of 3-Dimensional Shape Features and Their Visual Information to the Tactile Sensitivity

(in English) The mismatch between visual information such as texture and tactile information such as roughness or smoothness of the surface causes discomfort. This paper describes the influence of 3-Dimensional shape features and their visual information to the tactile sensitivity. Three tactile stimulus of different roughness are produced by 3D printer. The sensitivity by showing only tactile information was compared with the sensitivity by showing both of visual and tactile informations. Experimental results show the possibilities to improve the discrimination performance of surface and to reduce the variance by adding both of visual and tactile informations.
