Improvement in Power-generation Efficiency of OPV Cells using Patterning Technique

(in English) Since the power generation efficiency of an organic photovoltaics (OPV) cell is lower than that of a conventional Si solar cell, an OPV cell has not been put into practical use. In order to improve the efficiency, we try to increase the area of the p-n junction between pentacene (p-type) and C60 (n-type) by using a UV patterning method. The method is applied to achieve the selective deposition of pentacene film on a UV-patterned SAM film. As a result, the interface roughness between pentacene and C60 is controlled, resulting in improving the efficiency of OPV cell.
