A study on the precoded MIMO-OFDM transmission using phase hopping

(in English) NHK has been conducting research on the next generation of digital terrestrial broadcasting transmission system to enable large-volume content service such as Super Hi-Vision and studying on the large capacity transmission technologies using dual polarized MIMO. In this MIMO system, the deteriorations of reception performance was caused by the almost same reception levels between horizontal and vertical polarizations wave. To solve these problems, the precoded MIMO transmission system has been proposed. However, the reception characteristics are deteriorated under the specific phase difference even by the precoded MIMO. Therefore NHK proposed a new method as the precoded MIMO-OFDM transmission system using phase hopping This paper describes the computer simulation results of this new method for compensating the deterioration.
