Disparity estimation in the wide-dynamic-range environment using variable-integration-time image sensor

(in English) Images taken in the wide-dynamic-range environment often include blown out highlights or blocked up shadows. It is difficult to perform disparity estimation because of the lack of characteristic structure in the scene. To address this, although a method of using the images having different exposure times was proposed, there are some problems since it takes a lot of time for image acquisition, i.e., it reduces the frame rate. Therefore, it is difficult to estimate disparity in real time.
In this report, we propose a disparity estimation method in the wide-dynamic-range environment using variable-integration -time image sensor. This image sensor designed by our laboratory enables us to acquire images having different exposure times in parallel.
