Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) An ASIC chipset of low-power consumption to realize electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring using dry electrodes has been developed. This chipset consists of active electrode (AE) ASIC and back-end (BE) biopotential readout circuit ASIC, and at maximum 8ch biopotential (EEG, ECG, EMG, etc.) and electrode-skin contact impedance can be measured simultaneously and continuously. Overall the 8ch ASIC system realizes the input impedance of 1.2GΩ@10Hz, low-power consumption of 96μW/ch (typ), input-referred noise of 3.6μVpp (max) in the bandwidth of 0.5-100Hz, common-mode rejection ratio of 85dB (min) and electrode offset capability of ±470mV. The system is suitable for portable applications such as EEG headset, and can be applied for not only consumer but also medical fields.
