Although there are soft and strained movements, the difference is very small and it is difficult to determine them. This paper describes how to distinguish soft movement and strained movement. Assuming that the difference between soft and strained occurs easily in the arm movement, we analyzed the motion capture data of arm swing. This paper proposes two methods. One method uses regression analysis for the parameters of acceleration and jerk in order to decide a border line between soft and strained movements. Another method uses Support Vector Machines for the parameters of acceleration and jerk in order to distinguish soft and strained movements. The former method could distinguish 67% of movements, and the latter method could distinguish 58% of movements. |
