A Study for Ball Tracking in Basketball Analysis using Multi-View Image Sequences

(in English) In basketball video analysis, tracking of a ball is an important issue for individual and team technical improvement and strategic analysis of opposing teams. We have studied a stable method for performing self-calibration of cameras at each frame based on the captured image sequences using known geometric information in a court. In this study, using the determined camera pose and position, we propose a ball tracking method using multi-view image sequences to avoid occlusions, by which the 3D position of a ball can be determined.
