Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we mention an the ultra high speed temporally compressive CMOS image sensor with forcal plane multi-aperture by combining a high speed charge modulation pixel and compressive sampling. The sensor has an array of pixel blocks composed of multiple subpixels. Point spread function of the imaging lens is intentionally expanded to cover a whole pixel block to distribute similar optical signals to the subpixels. The object is temporally compressed with different temporal coded shutter patterns for each subpixel. After the image acquisition, the time-resolved image is reconstructed by solving the inverse problem. The factor which dominates the maximum frame rate is only charge modulation speed of the pixel, so that, the frame rate of 1Gfps (frame per second) will be realized. The maximum operating frequency of synthesized pixel controller is 1.67GHz when RC was not considered.
