A study for coexistence transmission of SCM and 10Gbps baseband video signals over FTTH networks.

(in English) The satellite broadcasting of Ultra high definition television is scheduled to start in 2018, and the capacity of video signals and number of channels will be increasing. In the future, it is necessary to expand the transmission capacity even in the cable television FTTH networks. Therefore, we are developing multi-channel digital broadcasting transmission equipment using 10G-EPON technology. We have considered that the WDM transmission method of the existing SCM (Sub Carrier Multiplexing) signal and the 10Gbps baseband video signal. In particular, we have examined a system that can easily coexistence transmission and migration without any changes of existing SCM receiver premises, and have confirmed the transmission conditions by indoor transmission experiments.
