A note on accurate retrieval of similar inspection records based on canonical correlation between eye tracking data and inspection records

(in English) This paper presents a retrieval method of similar inspection records introducing Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) between eye tracking data and inspection records for efficient maintenance inspection of road structures. The proposed method calculates a projection which has the maximum correlation between features of inspection records and eye tracking data by CCA. Our method provides similar inspection records based on users’ visual information by canonical features calculated from the projection and features of inspection records. Furthermore, the above projection enables our method to calculate canonical features and perform the retrieval based on users’ visual information without obtaining eye tracking data for every distress image. In experiments, we retrieve similar inspection records and confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.
