Image conversion methods from UHDTV images assuming mobile viewing environments

(in English) With the start of 8K broadcasting services in December 2018, it will be demanded to develop an image conversion method from 8K images into those of other image format to enjoy them in diversifying viewing environments. This paper presents image conversion methods from 8K images to FHD on the display of mobile devices. Probability density functions which express viewer’s attention region were applied to our proposed conversion algorithms. We conducted the two subjective experiments considering shapes and entropies of probability density functions to identify the proper parameters of image conversion method from 8K to the images suitable for mobile devices.
