Bit Error Rate Characteristics of Network with Co-existence of the PSK and OOK Signals Using Clipped Signal Sending Scheme

(in English) It is possible to increase the capacity and high speed of optical access network when co-existing OOK signal and PSK signal or QAM signal using digital software PON(Passive Optical Network).BER deterioration occurs by co-existed PSK or QAM when the OOK signal extinction ratio is large. The problem is improved using signal shaping method. This paper focuses clipped signal sending scheme in order to achieve low power optical access network. In the method, the negative components are remove from modulated signal converted to optical signal. This paper shows that the SNR vs BER performance of the co-existed OOK signal and PSK signal or QAM signal when signal shaping and clipped signal have been applied.
