Estimation of Human Posture from Multiple Omnidirectional images

(in English) Recently, the monitoring system with ceiling mounted cameras has been developed to find the human activity and movement by using image processing techniques. Especially, an omnidirectional camera system is effective to observe wide range area without blind spot. However, this system has difficulty in discriminating the simple human posture such as standing and sitting, since an extreme perspective distortion is generated in the image captured by omnidirectional camera. Therefore, we propose a recognition algorism of head and foot position closely related to the human posture by applying 4-fraction cylindrical model in captured human figure. Moreover, we try to estimate a practical human posture by using four omnidirectional cameras placed at each corners of room.
