Terrestrial television broadcast construct area by using different frequency to avoid co-channel interference between neighboring broadcasting are. On the other hand, wideband terrestrial broadcasting system, that uses lower order modulation (such as QPSK) and FEC with lower code rate, is being considered for the way to transmit similar capacity to current services. This system seems to have higher robustness against co-channel interference. However, depending on the combination of carrier modulation and FEC, it is concerned that the system can’t be received without error if carrier to interference ratio(C/I) was low. This paper reports the results of transmission performance of wideband terrestrial broadcasting system under co-channel interference evaluated by computer simulation. In addition, this paper presents that demodulation scheme taking interference into account can improve the performance against co-channel interference. |
