We have proposed a grating-assisted spatial phase-shifting technique for improving the readout time and the robustness of a multi-phase-level recording holographic memory. With the proposed method, it is possible to create four interference patterns with different phase shifts in parallel. This enables us to simultaneously detect the amplitude and phase distributions of beams in a single exposure. By means of the experimental detection of multi-phase-level data pages, we experimentally evaluated the detection accuracy between the proposed method and the conventional method based on a temporal phase-shifting method. |
