Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Effects of visual information displayed by AR (augmented reality) technology on younger (N = 36, 5-7-year-olds) and older (N =36, 8-10-year-olds) children’s behaviors were investigated. In younger age group, children who observed a human like cartoon character displayed by AR technology before engaging in a difficult game task tended to show significantly shorter latency for cheating behaviors in the game task than children who observed the same cartoon character on a TV monitor and those who were not shown any cartoon character before the game task. The results suggest that human-like cartoon character displayed by AR technology could have some impacts on young children’s behaviors.
