[Poster Presentation] Image Compression Based on Global Tone Mapping Preserving Perceptual Reality -- Subjective Evaluation of Reproduced Images Impaired by Viewing Flare --

(in English) In order to retaining perceptual reality in Standard-Dynamic-Range (SDR) images converted from High-Dynamic-Range (HDR) images, we proposed a method to estimate global tone mapping curves based on subjective experiments in real HDR environments (Iwaida et al., SID 2017). In this report, we investigate the relationship between effects on viewing-flares in bright-rooms (i.e., CRs 110:1 or 25:1) and picture quality degradation. Experimental results suggest that the SDR images converted by our proposed method retain enough quality for practical use, although SDR images converted by generally used conventional methods are impaired considerably.
