[Poster Presentation] A Laser Beam Deflection Control by Electrowetting Devices with Continuously Varying an Anodization Film Thickness of Al Using as an Insulation Layer

(in English) Optical devices using laser beams often require the beam deflection control. In this study, we propose a beam deflection devices using the electrowetting (EW) phenomenon. Where, an aluminum anodic film was used as an insulating film for the EW effect for realizing a deflection control with high durability, low voltage and wide angle. The insulator film forming process of the aluminum anodic method was very easy compared with a sputtering process forming Si3N4 film requiring a vacuum environment. In our deflection control device was used a pair of anodic Al films which thickness was continuously varied. As a result, a deflection control of the laser beams with maximum deflection angle of 42.3 ° under applying the driving voltage of 90 volts was realized in our basic experiment system.
