LOS/NLOS Received Power Characteristics by Beam Width of Vertical Antenna Pattern

(in English) In this paper, we investigate the received power characteristics of LOS (Line Of Sight) and NLOS (Non LOS) depending on beam width of vertical antenna pattern by ray tracing simulation in urban area. Horizontal and vertical antenna patterns of the base station antenna are omni and Chebyshev pattern respectively. We first calculate CDF (Cumulative Distribution Function) of the received power of each pattern. Then, it is shown LOS and NLOS received power characteristics by difference of 50% value of those CDF. According to some results, in both LOS and NLOS regions, the difference of received power CDF 50% values of omni directional and Chebyshev patterns becomes large in case of beam width is narrowed. Moreover, its difference becomes smaller tendency to when the base station is lower.
