Highly Transparent OLED Display with RGBW Pixel Arrangement

A transparent active matrix OLED display which has high transmission opening has been fabricated. In order to expand the transmission opening, we have applied the original sub-pixel arrangement with one of transistor of pixel circuit to be used common two sub-pixels adjacent to each other. And we have adopted the four colors of Red, Green, Blue and White as sub-pixel colors. A prototype of the transparent OLED display demonstrated 78% transmission opening, 163ppi pixel density and 63% transmittance. In this prototype, we do not use fine metal masks for the all of OLED layer for manufacturability. |
