[Poster Presentation] Study of An Expandable Cylindrical Device

(in English) We present a cylindrical device that is scalable according to the scaling of a virtual space. The surface of the device is based on an origami structure with a negative Poisson ratio and it can be scaled equally radially in the horizontal surface of the cylinder. The deformation is done by changing the amount of air in the device using air pump. So far, we have developed a MR system in which players can experience themselves to shrink relative to the virtual space through expansion of the cylindrical device they grab while gradually changing their view to the one for smaller persons.
