A Study on Boost Ratio for SC-FDE Millimeter-wave SHV Wireless Camera under Mobile Transmission Circumstances

(in English) We are developing a millimeter-wave Super Hi-Vision (SHV) wireless camera that has compact size and consumes less power for Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV) transmission. A single-carrier transmission with frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) was considered and applied to the SHV wireless camera. The SC-FDE uses a unique word (UW) that acts as a pilot signal for channel estimation and also guard interval. In this report, we investigated the optimum average amplitude ratio of the pilot signal to the other data symbols (boost ratio) for operation with a small output power back-off in the nonlinear region of a millimeter-wave power amplifier and under mobile transmission circumstances.
