Development of Lightweight Compressed 8K over IP Transmission Device Realizing High-Reliable Function

(in English) Technical development and standardization of transmitting video signals with low latency in IP packets are performed. In particular, it is attracting attention that a remote production to perform program productions from a broadcast station side by connecting between a venue and the broadcast station by an IP network. So far, we have developed a lightweight compressed 8K over IP transceiver that enables 8K program transmission with high image quality, low latency and bidirectionally regardless of the transmission distance using a relatively inexpensive 10 GbE line. On the other hand, in the signal transmission using IP network, loss of transmission packet and jitter occur due to deterioration of transmission quality, and there is a problem that stable signal transmission is difficult. Therefore, we have developed the lightweight compressed 8K over IP transceiver realizing high-reliable function. In this developed device, it is characterized in mapping technology to reduce video degradation, forward error correction (FEC) technology excellent in burst loss tolerance, and buffer configuration that can withstand switching and jitter. So, in this paper, we report the outline of this developed device and the details of high-reliable function.
