[Invited Talk] Attempt of application to memory or display devices in BiFeO3-based multiferroic films -- Fabrication of high-qualified films, material research, and functional verification --

(in English) Multiferroic materials with magneto-electric effect such as Bi-based ferrite, which simultaneously exhibit spontaneous polarization and magnetization, have been receiving greater attention because of their promising applications in the design of multifunctional devices with low power consumption. In this study, we fabricated the highly-qualified multiferroic (Bi1-xLax)(Fe0.75Co0.25)O3 thin films with higher coercivity of about 4 kOe and perpendicular magnetic anisotropy by using reactive pulsed DC sputtering method. We also demonstrated the inducement of magnetic domain with the width of 300 nm by the local electric writing. This functionality is suitable for memory or display devices application.
