Performance Evaluation of Layered Division Multiplexing of Next Generation Terrestrial Broadcasting under ISDB-T

(in English) The scheme that combines ISDB-T(Integrated Service Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial) with LDM(Layered Division Multiplexing) has been proposed as the way to shift to the next-generation DTTB(Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting). In this paper,the performance is evaluated by computer simulations under AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) environment when the receiver was simplified and the modulation of the upper layer was changed.From the results of simulations the receiver can be simplified without deteriorating the performance and the required CNR(Carrier to Noise Ratio) of the lower layer can be improved by the proposed scheme.
