Virtual-image display realizes attractive user experiences like, e.g., Pepper’s ghost. Holographic off-axis mirror, which is the see-through off-axis reflector realized by a holographic optical element, can work as an upright screen for a virtual-image display. However, chromatic dispersion is an issue to be solved for sharp-image displaying with a broadband light source. In this study, we propose a dispersion-compensation method for full-color virtual-image display with a holographic mirror exposed by red, green, and blue lasers. We verified the concept of the proposed method experimentally. Furthermore, we also applied a similar concept to the full-color off-axis image-capturing system, which was also verified experimentally. |
