Chromatic dispersion dependence of nonlinear signal degradation in guard bandless Nyquist OTDM-WDM

(in English) With the recent increase in Internet traffic, large-capacity transmission is required. Therefore, we are studying the Nyquist OTDM-WDM transmission system aiming at high frequency utilization efficiency and large capacity transmission. However, in WDM transmission, signal degradation due to the nonlinear optical effect becomes significant, and its influence changes due to chromatic dispersion. In this study, we investigate the baud rate, frequency interval, and chromatic dispersion dependence of each N-OTDM for signal quality degradation caused by nonlinear optical effects. Then, the combination of the baud rate, the number of wavelength multiplexing, the frequency interval, and the chromatic dispersion value for achieving both high frequency utilization efficiency and suppression of signal quality degradation due to the nonlinear optical effect will be clarified.
