A Study on Manifest Control Method Used for Live/Linear Streaming in HTTP Streaming

(in English) The authors have studied a manifest control method that dynamically generates a manifest file based on the control policy of the service provider and the original manifest file gotten from the origin server and sends it to the viewing client in HTTP streaming. When this method is used for live/linear streaming, there are problems such as system load increasing due to unadjusted frequency and timing for getting the original manifest file, and playback delayed and interrupted on the viewing client due to a delay of generating manifest files. In this paper, we propose and evaluate an algorithm for getting manifest files based on the time length information of segment files in the manifest file.
