[Poster Presentation] Dispersive type EL devices prepared using ZnS:Cu nanophosphor -- Improvement of PL and EL characteristics by adding several flux materials --

(in English) For dispersive inorganic electroluminescent (EL) devices using ZnS:Cu phosphor, improvement of luminance and efficiency are required. To achieve both Cu+ high-concentration-activation into ZnS lattice and the CuxS high density-formation in the ZnS grain boundary, small amount of NaCl and/or MgCl2 was added as flax to ZnS:Cu nano-phosphor before firing. The surface of the fired ZnS:Cu phosphor was also smoothed by HCl treatment. Both photoluminescence (PL) and EL intensity is much increased by the flux and HCl treatment. Currently obtained EL luminance is about 120 cd/m2 at 1 kHz.
