Design of a Low-Loss Planar Magic-T Employing Rectangle DGS

(in English) In this paper,a low-loss planar magic-T employing a Defected Ground Structure (DGS) is proposed.The proposed magic-T consists of microstrip lines and a coplanar strip line, and a rectangle DGS is formed just under the coplanar strip line.As the proposed magic-T does not use any slot lines, which have large radiation loss, the magic-T has low-loss characteristics. The proposed magic-T is designed and numerically compared with a conventional planar magic-T using microstrip lines and a slot line. Its feasibility and low-loss characteristics are confirmed.
