Design of a Beam Steering Circularly Polarized Array Antenna with Input Amplitude Control

(in English) This paper proposes a beam steering circularly polarized (CP) array antenna which employs input amplitude control beam-steering mechanism and perturbation technique. The proposed array antenna consists of four single-feed CP microstrip antenna elements with truncated corners and a dual-feed network using planar magic-Ts. Its directivity can be controlled by changing the amplitude ratio of two input signals. In this paper, the proposed array antenna is designed and numerically evaluated by using electromagnetic simulation. Good CP excitation and beam steering function were confirmed.
