[Poster Presentation] Effect of transition metal addition on luminescent properties of YAG:Cephosphor

(in English) YAG: Ce phosphor widely accepted as a phosphor for white LEDs was prepared by co-doped a transition metal, and the emission characteristics and afterglow characteristics were investigated. With Mn co-doped, the emission intensity was higher than that of the sample without co-doped due to increased crystallinity. In addition, improvement in afterglow characteristics was also observed. Because the level formed by Mn is deeper than the sample co-doped with other transition metals and the sample not co-doped with transition metals, it functions as an electron trap and makes energy transition to Ce more effectively. Co-doped of a transition metal to the YAG: Ce phosphor can be expected in terms of light emission characteristics and afterglow characteristics, and it was suggested that application in a wide range of fields is possible if the characteristics are improved.
