Image filter considered with peripheral vision characteristics with DoG and Gabor functions

(in English) For designing information display in public space and road signs, knowing the decrease of the sensitivity in peripheral vision is important. In this paper, we propose a method to visualize the characteristics of peripheral human vision in contrast sensitivity. It recomposes frequency band images extracted from an input image by the convolution with DoG functions, with optimized co- efficients determined by the comparison between contrast sensitivity function and local contrast in frequencies extracted by Gabor functions. Experimental results show that high frequency contrasts not appeared in the input image are reduced, and the pass rates of pixels for each frequency band can be determined more appropriately compared with the previous method.
