Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we propose a method of measuring oxygen saturation that is robust to varying visible light by using a near-infrared multispectral camera. The proposed method robustly measures oxygen saturation by using near-infrared image signals. However, it is difficult to accurately measure near-infrared light related to oxygen saturation using only a specific near-infrared wavelength range signal. The reason is primarily that the absorption characteristics of blood in the near-infrared region change depending on the subject. Thus, the accuracy of oxygen saturation estimation may be decreased. The proposed method adaptively selects the optimum signals among multiple signals of multiple near-infrared wavelength ranges by using a near-infrared multispectral camera. In the selection process, we select an image signal with the highest signal to noise ratio. The signal to noise ratio is defined based on a prior knowledge that is the accuracy of measurement of oxygen saturation depends on the periodicity of the pulsation signal. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
