A TOF CMOS Image Sensor With Code Authentication Function Using In-Pixel Pulse Frequency Modulation

(in English) A TOF image sensor (CMOS) with code authentification function is proposed. In the system, instead of the typical indirect TOF method that accumulates electric charge in some capacitors, the pulses generated by pulse frequency modulator (PFM, photocurrent – frequency conversion) are counted by some counters, and with the pulse number and digital processing, distance measurement, code authentification and interference cancellation is tried to realize. In this paper, the method of the distance measurement and the code authentification, the circuit implementation, and the results of simulation of the circuits and the system on HSPICE and C programs each other are shown.
