A study of Boundaries of Discomfort in Color Tone Corrections

In this study, we investigated color corrections that make it easier for color weak people to distinguish product packages that are difficult to distinguish, and that do not cause discomfort regardless of color vision characteristics. In the previous studies, the goal was to reduce the sense of discomfort when correcting through media such as digital signage. In this study, we investigated the degree of discomfort when a healthy people changes the design of the object itself and corrects the image to make it easier for a color weak person to see. As a result of our experiments, we were not able to create a design for color weak people with a correction intensity that would not cause discomfort to healthy people. However, the results suggest that it is possible to create a design that takes the color-impaired into consideration, with some margin from the boundaries of discomfort in healthy people. |
