Improving luminance of Aerial Image with Dual Transparent Spheres in AIRR

(in English) In this paper, we simulate the possibility of improving the luminance of an aerial image by combining two transparent spheres with Aerial Imaging by Retro-Reflection (AIRR). The configuration of AIRR requires a light source, a beam splitter, and a retro-reflector. In this method, two same transparent spheres are placed plane-symmetrically with respect to the beam splitter. The transparent sphere acts as a ball lens, allowing more light from the light source to enter the retro-reflector than conventional AIRR. As a result, the luminance of the aerial image is improved.
