Kuzushiji is a typeface used in ancient documents, and has a characteristic of fluent handwriting with a brush. Ancient documents are used as materials to learn histories and cultures of era when those were written. Currently, most people cannot read Kuzushiji, so it must be converted into regular Japanese fonts. However, a long time is needed for deciphering Kuzushiji by only experts. To address this, methods for automatic recognition of Kuzushiji have been studied. In this paper, we verify recognition accuracies of Kuzushiji using deep learning. Furthermore, we recognize Kuzushiji written by modern people and also verify those accuracies. |
