Implementation of a Packet Delay Variations Compensation Technology for PTP Transmission over Wireless Links

(in English) Remote production is a new style of program production, which is performed at a broadcasting station and a venue separately by transmitting video and audio signals captured at the venue to the broadcasting station via IP (Internet Protocol) networks. It is rapidly gaining attention as it can avoid crowding and movement of people in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. In the remote production, PTP (Precision Time Protocol) is used for time synchronization between devices. When the PTP packets are sent by wireless transmission device of an FPU (Field Pick-up Unit), packet delay variations in IP/TS (Transport Stream) conversion deteriorates time synchronization accuracy. We implemented a packet delay variations compensation technology for PTP transmission over wireless link.
