A Study on FFT Size and Scattered Pilot Pattern of Fixed Reception for an Advanced ISDB-T

(in English) We are conducting research on an advanced Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial (advanced ISDB-T) to realize 4K/8K services for fixed reception and 2K service for mobile reception within a channel simultaneously. The advanced ISDB-T has many transmission parameters that can be selected, such as the carrier modulation, code rate of forward error correction, FFT size, and Scattered Pilot (SP) pattern. We have already evaluated the fixed reception performance of the combination of the carrier modulation and the code rate of forward error correction. In this paper, we evaluated the transmission performance of each parameter of FFT size and SP pattern by computer simulation, and it was confirmed that the SP pattern with the largest temporal separation for each FFT size was excellent in both transmission capacity and required C/N. Finally, we evaluated the transmission capacity that can be realized in the fixed reception for the combination of the selected transmission parameters.
