Study of High-SNR Pixel for CMOS Image Sensor Applicable to Image Recognition

(in English) For the demand to high dynamic range (HDR) technology of CMOS image sensors, LOFIC is considered to be one of solutions. However, it is supposed that the HDR images will not be suitable to for image recognition using deep-learning because the HDR image requires higher bit resolution that the conventional SDR (standard dynamic range) image that composes most of the big data. In this research, a pixel circuit which can generate not only HDR image but also SDR images at various sensitivity with variable capacitor is presented. The variable sensitivity will be useful for mobile robots to recognize images of small motion artifacts and high SNR.
