Acceleration of High-Dimensional Signal Restoration with Primal-Dual Splitting

(in English) In this report, an acceleration technique is proposed for high-dimensional signal restoration. In general, it is inevitable that signals observed by sensors are affected by noise, and the techniques of removing noise taken during the observation process and restoring signals contaminated through inadequate environments are essential. Restoration of high-dimensional signals such as volumetric data can take several hours or even days. Therefore, speeding up the restoration process is an important issue. In this study, we aim to speed up a primal-dual splitting (PDS) method, which is one of optimization algorithms used for the high-dimensional signal restoration. We propose to introduce an acceleration method, RMSpropGraves, into PDS, and compare and evaluate the processing speed between the conventional and proposed methods for artificial volumetric data restoration, where an optical coherence tomography (OCT) observation model is adopted as an example. The proposed method is shown to be faster than the conventional one under the same mean squared error (MSE).
