A high-speed hologram calculation using 3D scene compression by wavelet transform: WASABI-2

(in English) When creating holograms from RGBD images, it is necessary to generate slice images from the RGBD image and then calculate the propagation to the hologram plane for all the slice images. This calculation can be done using the fast Fourier transform, but a faster method is WASABI, which uses the wavelet transform for the point spread function. However, when using WASABI, the high-frequency component of the point spread function is missing, and the depth of focus becomes deep. This study proposes a fast hologram calculation method that suppresses the change in depth of focus by applying the wavelet transform to the slice images instead of the point spread function.
