A Study of Receiver Configuration Using Beamforming in Non-line-of-sight Underwater Acoustic Communication

(in English) Underwater acoustic communication surrounded by walls such as a harbor becomes non-line-of-sight communication depending on obstacles and directivity of transmitting elements, and its reception characteristic is significantly deteriorated. In this study, we consider a receiver configuration using beamforming to improve underwater acoustic communication performance in non-line-of-sight communication. There are various kinds of receiver configurations. We apply a method that combines receive beamforming and RAKE reception method to deal with multipath interference due to long delay waves. We report simulation results in a swimming pool environment when comparing the proposed method and the conventional method
