Study of Transmission System of Advanced STL/TTL for Advanced Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting

(in English) We have been studying an advanced studio-to-transmitter link / transmitter-to-transmitter link (STL/TTL) for advanced digital terrestrial television broadcasting. We analyzed the requirements associated with advanced STL/TTL, investigated the basic specifications, and evaluated the performance of the designed prototype STL/TTL system. Consequently, it was found that there were certain challenges associated with the delay time. To address these challenges, we adopted the higher performance and shorter code length LDPC code which is employed for implementing advanced digital terrestrial television broadcasting. Furthermore, we set the FFT size as 4k points FFT, which can balances multipath tolerance, time variability tolerance and transmission capacity. In this paper, we discuss the details of the conducted analyses and describe the transmission system that incorporates the obtained results.
