A Study on multipath margin for the link budget of advanced ISDB-T

(in English) We have been developing an advanced ISDB-T(Integrated Systems Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial) to realize UHDTV services via terrestrial broadcasting. At link budget of current terrestrial broadcasting, the required field strength is determined by assuming transmission parameters, receiving model, some margins for deterioration due to multipath interference for example. It is necessary to show that the link budget of an advanced ISDB-T can be designed with a margin equal to that of current terrestrial broadcasting, in case migrating with the same transmission conditions as the current terrestrial broadcasting. We evaluated the transmission performance of ISDB-T and an advanced ISDB-T by computer simulation using huge number of channel response measured on ISDB-T field trial. This report shows transmission performance of an advanced ISDB-T under the channel responses which gives 1dB deterioration to required C/N of ISDB-T, and evaluation result of the rate of channel responses that gives 1dB deterioration to an advanced ISDB-T.
