Evaluation of exercise capacity around the ankle based on PCA with 3D camera

(in English) Recently, the decline in motor skills from the disease or aging has been recognized as a serious problem. Since this problem is considered to cause the need for nursing care and bedridden, health organizations suggest the practice for functional recovery training on a daily basis. However, it is difficult for others to notice the loss of mobility and functional impairment, since these disorders occur gradually. Therefore, in this research, we have developed a practical method to detect changes in motor status and functional impairment from physical appearance by using RGB-D camera. In this study, we focused on the stair climbing motion, and examined the relationship between the results of principal component analysis of repetitive motions and muscle strength.
