Safety path planning for autonomous mobile robot based on human behavior prediction

(in English) Recently, robots have become a familiar partner of our lives. As these robots move autonomously in our living space, safe operation and efficient path finding are strongly required. However, it is difficult to accurately predict the emergence and behavior of a person with the processing power of current autonomous mobile robots. Therefore, we have developed a practical method to rapidly transmit information to a robot based on the behavioral understanding from a sensor attached to a human. To understand human behavior, we used pressure sensing attached to shoes. Moreover, in the robot, we implemented safe pathfinding and evacuation behavior based on sensing information.
