Formation of aerial LED signs in multiple lanes by Aerial Imaging by Retro-reflection with two beam splitters

(in English) We propose an aerial LED sign formation system that combines two beam splitters with aerial imaging by retro-reflection (AIRR) as a new form of road information provision. AIRR uses a light source, a beam splitter, and a retro-reflector to form an image in mid-air without the need for a physical screen. Our proposed method can present aerial LED signs for two lanes, a driving lane and an overtaking lane, by use of a single LED sign panel. In this paper, we report our prototype display device that is designed to provide actual road information.
